Beaches

There is an abundance of small sandy coves throughout the northern part of Ibiza, accessible by unpaved roads, thus detracting large crowds. Outlined below is a short overview of those closest to Portinatx:

Cala Xarraca

Located 3km west of Portinatx, this almost deserted beach has somewhat coarse white sand with spectacular views along the rugged coastline. There are excellent cliff walks in this area and there is a restaurant on the beach.

Cala S’Illot

Located just to the east of Cala Xarraca and much smaller, it lends itself to fishing off the rocks.

Cala Xucla

Very close to Cala S’Illot this small beach is set in a tiny cove with fisherman’s huts and a small kiosk. Here one can find total tranquility.
